When Mark drives drunk, he loses his license and has to take an MPA. During the course, he meets Helen and tries to sober up with her, but temptations are everywhere. After Mark’s first failed attempt to sober up, Helen mentioned that he only managed to stay sober for 27 days [00:41:50].
So as usual, no pun intended
Later [00:42:35] in Mark’s apartment, the pinned-up calendar pages indicated that he only managed to stay sober for 25 days. As with most, if not all addictions, the people affected by it can’t see it. And the movie makes that clear from the beginning.
Lau is a great actor, he really gives it his all
They even talk and tell our main character what he’s probably thinking. It doesn’t get through to him – at least not in a way that would help him or make him change anything. The plot is predictable, but you wait because you are fascinated by the performances – including the other players (Tschirner, to name just one).

Platitudes and suspension of disbelief go hand in hand – or should. Something to… Best watched sober…
